40’ Custom Built Live Aboard Motor Sailor.
If you are not tight down to a standard racing type cruising sailboat, but are looking for a very unique boat specifically designed for comfortable and save cruising, this boat may be for you.

SailWhat sets KOLIKA apart from other sailboats: many people have ask us how did I manage to have my wife agree to go cruising with me for 10 years, even though she is not a sailor and often suffers from sea sickness. The answer is that the boat had to be a very comfortable home with sailing abilities. And KOLIKA has done that very well. I also learned to appreciate her many features like sailing in Alaska in a snow storm in complete comfort with the engine heated pilot house or staying in isolation over the winter in Alaska, warm and comfortable thanks to our diesel fireplace on one filling of fuel.

Also the generous water capacity (320 Gallon) allowed us to live up to 2 months on one filling. She always impressed me with gentle motion in rough seas and 95% of the time she pilots herself with Autohelm linked to the GPS. Cruising some times with other boats, we realized how much more rested we were than the others thanks to the comfortable pilot house. Due to her weight and hull shape she also sails very upright which helps the comfort level.

The wind generator and solar panels allowed us to live from the batteries at anchor up to one week before we had to run the engine to charge the batteries and running time was greatly reduced because of our 2 x 140 AMP alternators. Her single handling ability comes in very handy because we were always standing watch and never had crew with us.

Kolika's owner/builder has recently passed away and the boat must be sold. The price has been reduced to $79,900 or offer for a quick sale. Please contact Mark Lindeman at 253-851-4497 or e-mail mark at markl@gigyacht.com. The vessel is in dry storage in Dighton, MA. Everything aboard goes with the boat including all tools and supplies. Please call for arrangements to see the boat.
