Over the years, we have bought and sold a number of sailboats and gained some experience in doing so. Although we do not pose as broker or agent and using a broker offers many benefits, we have been very successful in selling our boats by creating extensive web sites with full descriptions and pictures.
Here are some facts:
This does not conflict with having a broker, in fact it will help your broker if you decide to use one.
An ad will never be long enough to describe your boat. (too expensive)
A broker does not have the time to build a web site and mostly use yachtworld.com for boat description which is not detailed enough to sell a boat.
A detailed web site about your boat will qualify buyers and will save you time.
Your boat will sell faster.
The ads in local newspapers do not need to be wordy and will be cheaper. (usually 10 words with the web address of your boat).
If you provide us with detailed specs and pictures, we can build and host a web site for your boat for as little as $150/page.
